AN EMOTIONS’ FILLED DESTINATION.
Albufeira is a unique municipality, that prizes its historic patrimony and cultural identity. At the village of Paderne – one of the finalists in the “7 Wonders of Portugal” contest – it’s the remains of a preserved past, reflected in its castle of rammed earth walls; at Olhos de Água, dozens of freshwater springs sprout out in the middle of the sand, while the fishermen fix their nets under the sun that moulded their faces and hands.
In Guia, it is impossible to say no to the well-known “Chicken cooked Guia style”, while the restaurants closer to the coast prize their cataplana (fish stew), elected among the ‘7 Wonders at the Portuguese Dinner Table’.
All the 25 local beaches have been granted a Blue Flag, while Falésia Beach itself was considered as the third best European Beach. Among the many other activities that can be performed, one can highlight a visit to a cave by boat, observe and swim with the dolphins, or take a donkey ride in the countryside.
Events such as the “Albufeira Carpe Nox” are examples of unforgettable experiences, and are recognized worldwide for their quality and level of innovation. Albufeira is a cosmopolitan and safe destination, a place that enjoys visitors and knows how to welcome them.
