The Chef who has been shining in Alentejo during the last decade – he won a Michelin star at L’AND Vineyards restaurant – is back in Cascais, where his roots lie. And he is getting ready to leave his mark on the gastronomy of the village where he was born. Leading the kitchen of Miguel Laffan at Atlântico Bar & Restaurant, at the Intercontinental Cascais-Estoril hotel, Miguel Laffan aims to “be part of a new gastronomic era in Cascais”. His mission has everything to make him happy since, in his eyes, Cascais is the main asset of this “last paradise in Europe” that is Portugal. And why is it so? He lists a few reasons: “The indispensable dives in the sea and treks in the green belt, the mythical and unique light of Cascais at sunset”, and also ” the view over Guincho beach, the fish and seafood restaurants, the pathway on the dunes, the early mornings with a taste of sea… ”
