Ericeira is home to the World Surfing Reserve and its set of amazing beaches with all the necessary infrastructures are not to be missed, even if the kids are not yet world-class surfers. It’s safer to have a go at the parks, starting with the Parque Urbano de S. Sebastião. Near by, in Mafra, Nature is in charge and adventure is in order like in Megacampo Parque Aventura, Jardim do Cerco and, of course, the Tapada Nacional de Mafra. Horse riding, apiculture, a guided tour on a tin train or night walks to know all about the stars, there are plenty of activities involved. A special favourite is Aldeia-Museu José Franco, a myriad of clay miniatures in a world of pottery. And you won’t have any trouble to find great places to eat, restaurants for every taste and purpose and, naturally, high quality hotels.
