The first steps in her career were those of ballet dancer, first in the extinguished Ballet Gulbenkian, then in the French Compagnie Jean-Claude Gallotta. She grew up and worked between Portugal and France, but chose Lisbon to live. After all, only here she continues to hear, inspite of her 46 years of age, the unmistakable “good morning, girl!”. She reinvented herself as a visual artist and performer – graduated recently from Ar.Co, where she held a two year scholarship – and founded in 2016 the CAVE, an atelier in Campo de Ourique that welcomes a group of resident artists and promotes meetings and sharing with other artists and the public. The bases are thus laid for maintaining the motto that has always guided her: “To work in what interests me and in the company of those I love”. And now in Lisbon, with its generous offer of cultural programs, both “interesting and accessible”.
HER BEST OF:
VISIT: Culturgest, Gulbenkian’s gardens, São Jorge Castle’s view; SLEEP: I do not usually go (laughs), but I advise the Republic Bed & Breakfast & Arts managed by my brother; EAT: L’Anisette, La Bottega, H… Às Onze, Chiringuito Tapas Bar, Santa Clara dos Cogumelos, Cozinha Popular da Mouraria; NIGHT: Bicaense, Baliza, Maria Caxuxa, Incógnito, Roterdão; SHOPPING: Chiado, because there is a little bit of everything and it is a lot nicer than a mall; and also I still like to visit the Jardim da Parada market in Campo de Ourique.
