Born in Funchal, she has made significant contributions to the field of anthropology, shedding light on the cultural practices and beliefs of the communities in the area and in the country. But it was by collaborating in a video mapping project that the Madeiran really made a difference. By using the Video Mapping and other state-of-the-art technologies, Glitch Visual Artists project, in which she was a co-author, scored points in the world of visual storytelling.
After a lot of back and forth, Carla Alves Nunes surrendered to the Island territory, for the quality of life and the safety that it can provide.
She calls Madeira “an Island of sun”, which is rich in customs and traditions, local culture and creative gastronomy.
Among other highly recommended visit points, she points out Caniçal, the flattest part of the island; Ponta do Pargo, for the silence and the vegetation; Funchal, for the urban life.
