How do you present the Municipality to those that don’t know about it?

A welcoming and very peaceful place, where one can live a pleasant life without stress. An urban center with everything that one may need, including the safety that we so much appreciate. Located in the Lisbon region and with good accesses to the city (allowing to commute for work to Lisbon, if needed). An urban space that facilitates access to both the river and the countryside.

Complete the following sentences:

Only in Montijo will I find… my roots. The sites that I related to while I grew up and became a person. My family lives in Montijo, and some of my dearest friends are also there.

A perfect day in Montijo includes… Leave the house and walk to Mimosa for breakfast, with no hurries…. passing by the Praça da República and saluting every one that you come across and know. It doesn’t really matter if you don’t… you salute them the same! Go to the Municipal Market to buy vegetables, fruit and fresh fish to cook lunch for the family. During the afternoon, go for a bicycle ride with a group of friends through the fields that surround the town. A few years ago, I would do that tour on a motorcycle, entering through the Herdade de Rio Frio (a Ranch), and going all the way to the water dam….I would be exhausted, but accomplished. Ending the day with a dinner among friends at Restaurant Caféhavanesa would be perfect.

We cannot leave Montijo without… Promenade along the river frontage and at the Municipal Park, of which I have many and very fond memories from my youth.
